Amid the festivities on the occasion of Balipratipada, the fourth day of Diwali, the stock market will be closed for trading on Wednesday.
The foreign exchange market will also be closed, while the commodities market will be closed during the morning session, ie 9am-5pm, but will operate during the evening session — 5.23.30pm.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, given mixed global signals, benchmark indices fell in trading, with Nifty ending the session 75 points lower at 17,656. Broader markets, however, outperformed the headline indices. Sector-wise, Nifty PSU Bank was in the spotlight with gains of over 3%, while Nifty Financial Services, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty, Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Media finished in the red.
